What are the precautions for bearing maintenance?
2024-02-26

The maintenance and precautions for bearings are as follows:

(1) Bearing installation. In the process of mechanical maintenance, bearing maintenance has high requirements for installation. Due to the lack of obvious external features in the appearance of bearings, they can be installed in both forward and reverse directions, making it extremely easy to have reverse installation. During the assembly process of bearings, maintenance personnel are required to have a sufficient understanding of the structure and installation requirements of the bearings, be familiar with safety technical points, and install them correctly according to design requirements.

The installation methods of circular cone bearings include "back-to-back" and "face-to-face". If installed incorrectly, it will cause axial displacement and cannot be adjusted; If there is a lack of understanding of the structure and installation of bearings, it is easy to install the tight and loose rings of flat bearings upside down, resulting in the inability to operate normally after assembly and causing greater mechanical equipment failures.

(2) Defects in the bearings themselves. In the process of mechanical maintenance, it is necessary to have a thorough understanding of the technical indicators such as bearing codes and models of the equipment, and try to rotate the original model as much as possible to avoid using substitute models. In practical work, some equipment often replaces bearings, and the replaced bearings are very prone to burning out. This is usually caused by differences in bearing models, the use of substitute bearings, and quality defects in the bearings themselves.

Due to the uneven quality of bearings sold in the market, there is a phenomenon of substandard bearings being replaced by good ones. Long term use of inferior bearing accessories causes long-term wear and tear on mechanical equipment, reducing its service life. During mechanical maintenance, rotating bearings should avoid rotating parts that have been stored for a long time. At the same time, the bearings should be visually inspected and tested for functionality to ensure bearing quality.
